Do your walls seem dull and uninviting? Do you long for a cozy, welcoming room? Consider decorative wall painting techniques, such as sponging, ragging, stenciling or stamping. Even if you have no experience, you can brighten even the dullest room quickly and cheaply with one of these easy decorative wall painting techniques.

Before painting your room, pick out a color scheme for your walls. When you chose your paint, remember that many painting techniques use two shades of one color. If you are using one of the techniques that does use two shades of color, you can pick a darker color than you normally would chose for your base color, since the lighter top color will make the final result much lighter.

To sponge or rag a wall, paint on your base color and let it dry thoroughly. Then, dip your sponge or rag into the lighter paint color and sponge or drag the lighter color over the base coat until you are satisfied with the effect. If you are unhappy with your final result, you can repaint any areas that you don’t like with the base coat. Once the repainted area is dry, repeat the faux painting technique.

If you are considering using a decorative painting technique such as stenciling or stamping, you may just want to create a wallpaper effect by stamping or stenciling a simple design over your base coat. However, you may want to go a step further with your project and use stencils or stamps to create a faux brick or stone wall. You don’t need to be an artist to create one of these faux finishes. Just follow these simple steps. First, paint the walls with the color you chose for the mortar between the bricks or stones. Once the base coat is dry, stamp or stencil your bricks or stones over the base coat. Once the brick or stonework is dry, spatter a bit of the darker color over your faux art to give it depth and make it appear more realistic.

Creating faux effects such as making your walls look like they are made of plaster or suede can also really make your room stand out. You can easily learn how to create these seemingly difficult finishes at your local paint store. Paint bases that automatically give a suede or textured effect to the walls are a shortcut that even artists use to create fun finishes.

Finally, no matter which decorative wall painting technique you choose, remember that it is just a few layers of paint. You can always redo the finish on your walls as you learn more about the art of decorative painting.

If you are an art collector then you are going to want to know where to find oil paintings for sale for a low cost. Now granted you can find the reprints and prints for a low cost, but the originals can end up costing you quite a bit more.

The first place that you can check would be with an art gallery that specializes in paintings. Shopping at these can be a fairly expensive option, but if you are an avid collector then cost will not be an issue for you. Shopping at these locations will also help provide you with some protection from people selling reproductions as originals and they might even be able to provide you with paperwork verifying authenticity.

The second place to check for these items would be your larger craft shows. You might not think about using this venue, but at some of these you will be able to locate local artist that are selling their paintings here for a reasonable cost. By purchasing here though you will also notice that the art will usually have the artist that made it present as well.

The third place to look for these would be at various flea markets. Flea markets might not seem like a great place to shop for art, but if you consider that some people will end up clearing out attics to provide products for these locations you might be able to find the diamond in the rough here and obtain it for a low cost.

The fourth place to look for these would be on the internet. With the internet becoming so popular today you will notice more people are selling items of all shapes and sizes on here. You can at times manage to find some excellent oils on the internet at a very reasonable price. If it is possible you will want to make sure that they are able to provide you with a certificate that they are authentic paintings and not reproductions.

The fifth place that you can find these for sale at would be estate sales. If you are a buyer of art then you will notice that many people have estate sales when they pass on hosted by their families. At times the families will not know what all the person has in the home and sell everything. Some times the items that they are selling can include the original oils that you are looking for.

As an art collector you probably realize that original paintings will cost you more than prints. However, finding the original oil paintings for sale can be a challenge at times. The five places that are mentioned above will provide you with a great start as to where to look to find these items. You will also want to realize that other places will be able to provide you with what you are looking for as well.

When we walked into the museum the other day, we noticed some oil canvas paintings hanging on their wall. These were breathtakingly beautiful! We couldn’t seem to get them out of our mind. You see, we are a painter and love taking oil paint and putting a picture on canvas. We believe this really is art at its finest. There are so many techniques you can use with painting. If you have chosen to paint on canvas, then you have made a great choice. Canvas is a great choice as you can paint on it comfortable.

When used in the best quality, it is durable and stiff. The pigments used in oil paintings are special, which binds well with the oil that is being used as a base. Walnut oil or Linseed oil will work the best in this type of painting. There are times where resin can be added with the base oil. This type of product is known as varnish. In order to get that finished, glossy look, one would use varnish.

How do you prepare the canvas? You prepare the canvas by slightly stretching it and mounting it on your board with clamps. You then mix your paints with oil and leave it there for some time. This will give the paint some time to perfectly blend in with the oil.

When you are doing this type of painting, it is important that you steadily make the strokes, with measured pressure. If you put extra pressure on your brush, then you are going to smudge the color.

On another note, if you do not put enough pressure on it, the right amount of oil may not be absorbed into your canvas. In turns, this is going to shorten the life of your painting when you finish it. It is important to do this properly so that you get a high quality painting that will last for a very long time.

When you have completed the painting, it will be time to let it dry. Once it is finally dry, you can coat the painting with some clear lacquer. This is called varnishing. This will make the painting waterproof and is going to extend the life of the painting.

Once this process has been completed, it will be time to let the varnish dry. The colors are going to set perfectly as time passes. When the varnish finally dries up, it is going to leave your canvas with a glossy, smooth looking painting.

When it comes to creating oil canvas paintings, this can be an expensive task. If you do it successfully, it will leave you with a wonderful masterpiece to add to your collection. Many individuals paint on high quality canvas in order to create a good gift for someone that is close to them. With the right techniques at hand, you too will be able to do this. Once you get used to it, it really isn’t hard to do. As long as you have time and patience on your hands, you can master it!

The first thing you need to get started making postcards with online photo printing is a picture. You probably have a camera and take plenty of your own pictures already. You may want to choose from pictures you already have, or you may want to go out and shoot something especially for the purpose of sending it as a postcard. You can personalize this quite a bit just through your choice of image. For example, if you live in New York City, and you know someone who loves penguins, you can go to the zoo and take a picture of a penguin.

The beauty of it is, it’s cheap and convenient to print photos you have stored in an online gallery—if your online gallery website offers printing services. An online gallery also offers safe storage for your irreplaceable photographs. No matter how many hard drives you have, if something happens to your home you might lose a lot of your irreplaceable photos. Thus in addition to providing online photo printing, online galleries offer a safe supplementary backup strategy to protect your valuable photo files.

The quality of printing from online galleries is outstanding. So much so that online photo printing can be hard to tell from old fashioned film printing. Online galleries offer top quality, economical options for online photo printing. The better online galleries use high-quality, Kodak photo paper, just like the kind of paper used for printing enlargements from film negatives optically. They use very good quality photo printers to get vibrant, clear, accurate color. Most services offer a variety of sizes to suit your printing needs as well.

If you are using a digital camera, all you need to do is upload the photos to take advantage of this service. If you have older photos, you can scan them or have a scanning service do it. Once your photos are online, the better online gallery services offer online editing tools so that you can enhance your photos. From there, you can order prints in a variety of sizes, in either glossy or matte, with an easy online form.

Portrait paintings reflect the emotions of a person. Every portrait reflects the personality of a person. The eyes of the person in the portrait, tells a story by itself. In fact, a portrait can be called perfect only when the artist is able to capture the emotions, in the eyes of the person, perfectly into the portrait. It is not an easy task and every artist puts in a lot of effort to make their portraits look beautiful as well as real.

An expert artist can very successfully reflect the personality of a person through his portrait. He captures everything perfectly into the portrait right from the muscle tone and skull structure to the perfect smile. To make the portrait paintings perfect, an artist first studies his/her subject very closely. He/she very deeply studies the character and personality of the person whose portrait is being made. He/she studies the emotions reflected by the eyes and smile of the subject. The artists very carefully study the structure of the features too.

After close study of the subject, the artists start working on the portrait paintings. They put in all their efforts to fill life into the portrait and make it look real. They try to reflect the different emotions, like happiness, anger, excitement etc., present in the subject, through the portrait. All the qualities which are required to make a portrait look beautiful are present in Leonardo Da Vinci’s ‘Mona Lisa’. That’s the reason why it is considered as one of the most beautiful portrait paintings painted till date.

http://www.stefano-campitelli-portrait-and-nude-painting.com/ is a website of Stefano Campitelli, an Italian artist from Rome shows his female and male nude drawings and paintings, male nude etching prints, lifelike oil portraits, nude male soft-ground etchings and aquatint prints. He also teaches his art techniques. He has been painting and drawing for more than 15 years. Also etching is one of his great passions. In this virtual art gallery you will also find nude drawings, etching prints and aquatints.

Do you need information about art techniques? Here you will find some tips especially about oil painting, drawing and etching. Generally, figure painting is mainly focused on the female figure, but here male nude painting has an important place. Naturally other subjects as flowers and landscapes are represented as well.

If you find the way he express myself different, don’t worry, he am just an Italian “tourist”. If you have any questions or you are searching for some tips about art techniques, feel free to contact him.
